Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Uruguayans who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former international guard
Jayson Granger (189-89, currently plays in Germany). Granger led
ALBA Berlin to a 1-point victory against the closely-ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (2-1)
79-78 in the German BBL in Tuesday night's game.
He scored 12 points and added 5 assists in 27 minutes on the court.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. ALBA Berlin (27-6) is placed second in the BBL.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
This year Granger averages: 8.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 5.9apg, 2FGP: 52.9%, 3FGP: 35.2% and FT: 71.8% in 23 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Uruguayan and Italian.
Worth to mention he played also at
Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Granger played for the Uruguayan senior national team four years ago.
#2. Second place goes to an international point guard
Bruno Fitipaldo (183-91, agency:
Pro Sports, currently plays in Spain). He could not help
CB Canarias (25-8) to beat Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (11-21).
Fitipaldo scored 5 points and added 4 passes.
CB Canarias was crushed
98-65 on the road by the much lower-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#15).
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
It's Fitipaldo's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year: 11.0ppg, 1.7rpg, 4.6apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 48.4%, 3FGP: 33.8% and FT: 80.7%.
Fitipaldo is in the roster of the Uruguayan senior national team.
#3. The Uruguayan player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard
Luciano Parodi (189-94, currently plays in Brazil). He was the major contributor in
Minas' victory against the closely-ranked Vivo/Franca (2-1) crushing them
93-68 in the Brazilian NBB on Monday night.
Parodi scored 14 points and added 8 assists in 26 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Minas Belo Horizonte (25-4) is placed second in the NBB.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
This year Parodi has relatively solid stats: 10.9ppg, 3.0rpg, 4.6apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 46.0%, 3FGP: 37.4% and FT: 77.3% in 22 games.
He is also a member of the Uruguayan senior national team.
#4. Power forward
Mathias Calfani (204-92, also represented by
Pro Sports, currently plays in Japan) led
Toshiba Thunders to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (38-20) crushing them
108-88 in the Japanese B1 League in Saturday night's game.
Calfani scored 11 points.
Kawasaki Brave Thunders (42-16) are placed third in East group.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
The Regular Season already ended.
Calfani's overall stats this season are: 7.3ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.8apg.
He used to play for the Uruguayan national team
back in 2019.
#5. International shooting guard
Bernardo Barrera (194-97, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to a 2-point
Salta Basket's victory against the 12th-ranked Olimpico (5-10)
74-72 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) last Saturday.
Barrera recorded 7 points in 29 minutes.
Salta Basket (11-6) is placed fourth in Conferencia Norte.
The Regular Season already ended.
This year Barrera's overall stats are: 9.9ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.5apg in 17 games.
He plays currently for the Uruguayan national team.
#6. Small forward
Rodrigo Deus (196-97, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help
Zamora in their game against Univ.Valladolid (7-8) in the Spanish EBA (fourth division).
Deus scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes.
The 11th-placed Zamora (4-14) lost
64-70 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#8) Univ.Valladolid in the Group A-B.
It was Zamora's third consecutive loss in a row.

This year Deus' total stats are: 8.2ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.1spg in 14 games.
He is a former U18 international player as he played for the Uruguayan team seven years ago.
One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Uruguayan passport: #1. Santiago Ramirez (198-F-93, currently plays in Spain) could not help
Benidorm (12-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Ramirez's good performance the sixth-placed Benidorm (12-9) was defeated
90-84 on the road by the higher-ranked Lliria (#3) in the Group E-Class.
He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

Ramirez has reliable stats this season: 11.6ppg and 5.7rpg.
He has a dual citizenship: Uruguayan and Spanish.
