Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Cordon as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Cordon defeated 9th ranked O.Mundial in Montevideo 87-79. Cordon shot 32 for 45 from the free-throw line, while O.Mundial only scored sixteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded O.Mundial 48-30 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 33 personal fouls committed by O.Mundial helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Argentinian center Eduardo Vasirani (206-1991) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ignacio Xavier (196, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Santiago Wohlwend (172-1997) with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. O.Mundial's coach Gonzalo Fernandez rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cordon have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with U.Atletica and Lagomar. O.Mundial at the other side keeps the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Stockolmo and Miramar. O.Mundial will play next round against Sayago trying to get back on the winning streak. Cordon will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Verdirrojo. It will be extra interesting game as Verdirrojo is their local rival from Montevideo.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Larranaga (#8) and Capitol (#6). Capitol was defeated at home 74-83 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitol. Iraqi center Ihab Al-Zuhairi (210-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Maximiliano Nobile supported him with 12 points and 6 assists. Even 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks by American Akia Pruitt (203-1997, college: UNCP) did not help to save the game for Capitol. Larranaga maintains eighth position with 3-3 record. Capitol at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. The game between Top Four teams took place in Montevideo. Third ranked host U.Atletica (5-1) defeated one of their biggest challengers Tabare (4-2) 90-83. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tabare. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was Emiliano Baston who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Miles Bowman Jr who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. U.Atletica keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Cordon and Lagomar. Loser Tabare keeps the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. There were no shocking results in the other games in round 6: 25 de Agosto lost to Colon on the opponent's court 99-106. Lagomar managed to outperform Sayago in a home game 82-72. Miramar managed to beat San Telmo RS on the road 73-69. Stockolmo defeated Verdirrojo on its own court 84-77.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 19 points and 14 rebounds by Ricardo Glenn of Tabare.



Colon - 25 de Agosto 106-99

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked 25 de Agosto (4-2) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Colon (4-2) 106-99 on Saturday. Colon made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Casey Jones (195-1993, college: Chattanooga) who scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Argentinian center Cristian Scaramuzzino (206-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Five Colon players scored in double figures.
