Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Circulo - Universitario 55-90 The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Circulo (0-10) in Salto on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by fifth ranked Universitario (3-7) 90-55. Universitario dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Circulo's 22. Universitario forced 26 Circulo turnovers and outrebounded them 53-40 including a 41-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Universitario looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Circulo's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Andre McPhail (201-1993, college: CS Los Angeles) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Forward Michael Nunez (191-1991) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Universitario players scored in double figures. Point guard Luciano Martinez (175-2005) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and guard Nicolas Torrens (169-1998) added 11 points in the effort for Circulo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Universitario moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Juventus. Circulo at the other side still keeps top with ten games lost. First ranked Nacional FC eked out just a narrow 1-point road win over Ferro CS 83-82. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Forward Luca Cattani (188-1995) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Mariano Techeira (171-1995) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Brazilian power forward Diego Dias Silva (207-1990) responded with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and forward Andres Caballero (187-1996) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro CS's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nacional FC maintains first position with 9-1 record. Ferro CS at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. (#3) and Juventus (#4). Juventus were defeated at home 80-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Brazilian center Pedro Pecanha (206-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and swingman Agustin Britos (191-1997) supported him with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Salto Uru. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by Colombian forward Diego Altamiranda (201-2001) did not help to save the game for Juventus. Point guard Bruno Bellacci (180-1999) added 23 points and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salto Uru. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-3 record having just seven point less than leader Nacional FC. Loser Juventus keep the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Universitario.
