There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in Liga Femenina. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Yale in Montevideo on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Malvin 78-53. Malvin forced 19 Yale turnovers and outrebounded them 43-22 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Yale's players. The best player for the winners was Florencia Somma (175-1988) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) chipped in 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) produced 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin are looking forward to face Aguada on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yale's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo D.Sporting.

Paraguayan forward Paloma Niz (175-1999) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. Ornela Bacchini contributed with 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Sabrina Molina (179-1998) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for 25 de Agosto. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. D.Sporting's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Yale.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Yale and Hebraica. Yale won against visiting Hebraica 58-44. Agustina Bazan had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Martina Marino responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Yale's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo D.Sporting.

Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Hebraica was crushed by Aguada in a road game 72-47. Winless Juventud lost to undefeated Lagomar at home 35-73. Winless Urunday lost to undefeated Remeros on the opponent's court 60-65. Winless 25 de Agosto unfortunately lost to Aguada in a home game 57-63. D.Sporting lost to undefeated Malvin on the road 66-74.
The best stats of 2nd round was 17 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals by Maria Jourdheuil of Malvin.

Aguada - Hebraica 72-47

Aguada used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Montevideo 72-47 on Saturday night. Aguada forced 19 Hebraica turnovers and outrebounded them 42-27 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Josefina Rivera (177-1998) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Camila Kirschenbaum (170-2002, college: Binghamton) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Argentinian Abril Ramirez (167-2000) responded with 15 points and point guard Romina Dalesandro (157-2003) scored 8 points and 5 steals. Hebraica's coach Luis Pierri gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Aguada will meet at home Malvin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. No shocking result in a game in Las Piedras where Lagomar smashed Juventud 73-35 on Saturday. Lagomar held Juventud to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Lagomar forced 30 Juventud turnovers and outrebounded them 53-29 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Selena Medrik (177-1992) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Paraguayan forward Natalia Quevedo (170-1998) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Lagomar players scored in double figures. Forward Karina Acosta (-1986) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ivana Presa (-1986) scored 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Gabriela Piriz (158-1988) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Rocio Mott (169-1992) scored 2 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
