Sayago (Metropolitan) inked experienced 40-year old American 208cm power forward Chaz Crawford (college: Drexel) for upcoming season. Crawford moved there from Cordon (LUB). In 31 games he averaged 6.9ppg, 12.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2bpg last season. Metropolitan will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. The last summer he played at Colonias in Paraguayan LNB where in 8 games he had 6.4ppg and 7.9rpg.
In 2007 he was drafted by Delaware Stars (USBL) in fourth round (40th overall).
The former Drexel University standout is in his 17th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Crawford has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (La Union, Argentino, Quimsa and Comunicaciones), Sweden (Solna Vikings), Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka and Usak), Uruguay (Goes and Urunday), PBA (RazorSharks), NBA G League (Springfield A.), Ecuador (ComuniKT) and Thailand (PEA). Crawford was also voted to CAA All-Defensive Team back in 2007.
His team made it to the Argentinian LaLiga Torneo Super 20 Semifinals in 2022.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Sayago.
