The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Larranaga (2-1) at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were rolled over by Montevideo (4-0) 110-88. Montevideo dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Larranaga's 38 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Montevideo looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Larranaga's players. A very close game took place in Montevideo between Verdirrojo and Lagomar. Verdirrojo (2-1) got a very close home victory over Lagomar (1-2). Verdirrojo managed to escape with a 3-point win 75-72 on Tuesday evening. The best player for the winners was Randy Rickards who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Victor Andrade who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Lagomar's coach Alejandro Muro tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: Capitol lost to Colon on the opponent's court 74-83. Olimpia managed to outperform Bohemios in a home game 83-73. Winless L.Borges recorded a loss to O.Mundial on the road 88-76. Tabare crushed Stockolmo on its own court 101-82.




Colon - Capitol 83-74

There was a minor upset when Capitol (1-2) was defeated on the road by Colon (1-2) 83-74 on Monday. The best player for the winners was center Theo Metzger (200-1999) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Guillermo Curbelo (187-2001) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Mateo Bianchi (203-2002) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Santiago Tucuna (197-2002) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Colon will meet L.Borges (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Capitol will play against Sayago (#15) and hope to win that game.
