Rickards number one in Uruguayan Metropolitan for round 3

American Forward Randy Rickards (201-F-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Verdirrojo Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 18 rebounds, while his team edged out Lagomar (#12, 1-2) 75-72. Thanks to this victory Verdirrojo moved-up to the 8th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. Verdirrojo is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Rickards had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Verdirrojo, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Wilmington University star has very solid stats this year. Rickards is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.0ppg) and averages impressive 1.8bpg,2.3spg and 56.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Tirrell Brown (198-PF-1993) of Atletico Tabare. Brown had a very good evening with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Tabare to another comfortable win 101-82 over Stockolmo (2-2) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Brown is one of the most experienced players at Tabare and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.8ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 11.5rpg and 4.3apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Quinterian McConico (203-C/F-1995) of Olivol Mundial Montevideo (#13). McConico scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of O.Mundial, leading his team to a 88-76 win against L.Borges (#14, 0-3). O.Mundial can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. McConico has individually a great season in Uruguay. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.8rpg (7th best).

9. Nicolas Borsellino (202-PF-1986) of Larranaga - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Mateo Bolivar (187-SG-1992) of Larranaga - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
