Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Round 8 most important game was a victory of 25 de Agosto over 7th ranked Lagomar 55-53 on Sunday night. 25 de Agosto forced 21 Lagomar turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Argentinian power forward Debora Coli (180-2001) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian guard Rocio Bereilh (165-2001) contributed with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Forward Carina Laborde (170-2004) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds for Lagomar. 25 de Agosto (4-4) moved-up to fifth place. Lagomar at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost.
An interesting game for Malvin (8-0) which played road game in Aguada against 3rd ranked Aguada (6-3). Top-ranked Malvin managed to get a 8-point victory 65-57. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aguada. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Selena Medrick who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Forward Florencia Fernandez (175-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Malvin have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Aguada at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost.
An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 5th ranked Urunday in a game in Mercedes versus Remeros (#8) 71-57. The winners were led by Ornella Bacchini who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by Abril Ramirez did not help to save the game for Urunday. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Remeros (3-4) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Urunday dropped to the sixth position with five games lost.

In the last two games of round 8 Juventud was beaten by Yale on the road 75-71. Tabare was destroyed by D.Sporting on its own court 31-81.

Aguada - Malvin 57-65

An interesting game for Malvin (8-0) which played road game in Aguada against 3rd ranked Aguada (6-3). Top-ranked Malvin managed to get a 8-point victory 65-57. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aguada. Malvin forced 19 Aguada turnovers. Yale - Juventud 75-71

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Yale (7-1) beat 9th ranked Juventud (2-6) in Montevideo 75-71 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Yale made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Juventud turnovers. The winners were led by Argentinian Agustina Bazan (174-2003) who scored that evening 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and guard Aldana Barragan (-2005) supported her with 23 points and 5 steals. Yale's coach Gino Alderete used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 12 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals by Sabrina Molina (180-1998) did not help to save the game for Juventud. Center Florencia Spinelli (186-1994) added 21 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Four Juventud players scored in double figures. Yale have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record behind leader Malvin. Loser Juventud keeps the ninth place with six games lost.

The winners were led by center Ornella Bacchini (-1989, agency: BIG) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Mariana Alvarez (165-2000) supported her with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by Argentinian point guard Abril Ramirez (167-2000) did not help to save the game for Urunday. Point guard Gabriela Piriz (158-1988) added 12 points and 5 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Very expected game when 10th ranked Tabare (1-7) was smashed at home by fourth ranked D.Sporting (6-2) 81-31 on Sunday. D.Sporting held Tabare to an opponent 22.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.7 percent accuracy of the winners. D.Sporting forced 32 Tabare turnovers and outrebounded them 57-29 including a 23-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by center Josefina Rivera (177-1998) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and forward Lucia Schiavo (174-1998) supported her with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Even 9 points by Chilean Catalina Rodriguez (-2002) did not help to save the game for Tabare. Forward Luciana Franca (-2009) added 4 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. D.Sporting moved-up to third place. Tabare lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with seven games lost.
