Octavio Medina (195-F-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for Bohemios Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Sayago (#15, 1-6) 81-74. Bohemios is placed at 7th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bohemios will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. Medina just recently signed at Bohemios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Octavio Medina averages this season 16.4ppg, 6.9rpg and 4.9apg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Tirrell Brown (198-PF-1993) of Atletico Tabare. Brown impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Tabare to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Verdirrojo (#10, 2-3) 82-62. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Tabare managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Brown is one of the most experienced players at Tabare and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.0ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 10.9rpg and 3.4apg.
The third best performed player last round was Brazilian Sergio Conceicao (209-C-2000) of Larre Borges Montevideo (#12). Conceicao scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of L.Borges, leading his team to a 95-87 win against the higher-ranked Montevideo (#1, 5-1). L.Borges can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Conceicao he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Conceicao has individually a great season in Uruguay. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.7ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 12.3rpg (3rd best).
Other top performing players last week:
4. Gianfranco Espindola (196-F-1999) of Colon - 22 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Facundo Terra (187-G-1998) of Stockolmo - 21 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists

7. Lucio Castellani (196-F-1994) of Stockolmo - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists

10. Federico Haller (200-F-1988) of Lagomar - 20 points and 13 rebounds
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
