Michael Jackson gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Metropolitan (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced Colombian Michael Jackson (192-F-1987) put on an amazing game in the last round for Lagomar Canelones Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 37-year old forward had the game-high 24 points adding seven rebounds for Lagomar in his team's victory, helping them to beat Capitol (#7, 13-12) 80-72. Lagomar maintains the 4th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Lagomar will need more victories to improve their 15-10 record. In the team's last game Jackson had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Lagomar's top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Earl Watson (201-C-1990) of Sayago. Watson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Sayago to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Tabare (#6, 13-12) 92-69. Sayago's 11th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-14 record. Watson is a newcomer at Sayago and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Randy Rickards (201-F-2000) of Verdirrojo Montevideo (#13). Rickards scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Verdirrojo, leading his team to a 80-76 win against slightly higher-ranked Montevideo (#12, 10-16). The chances of Verdirrojo not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rickards could try to bring Verdirrojo's a little bit higher in the standings. Rickards has individually a great season in Uruguay. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.4ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 14.0rpg (#1 in league).
