Garcia's 32-point game gives him Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award

25-year old point guard Felipe Garcia (173-PG-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Colon F.C. and receives a Hoops Agents Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 32 points adding three rebounds and seven assists for Colon in his team's victory, helping them to beat Montevideo (#12, 1-5) 101-90. Colon maintains the 7th position in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. Colon is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Garcia had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Colon, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Garcia has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.6ppg), assists (2nd best: 5.4apg) and averages solid 2.3spg.

Second best performed player last round was Octavio Medina (195-F-1996) of Montevideo Basket Ball Club. He is a forward in his first season at Montevideo. Third place about best performers goes to forward Ezequiel Bell (202-F/C-1999) of Capitol Montevideo (#13). Bell scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Bell's great performance the Capitol lost 77-80 to the higher-ranked Olimpia (#10, 2-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Capitol can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-7 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Bell has individually a great season in Uruguay. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.9ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 10.8rpg (2nd best). He also has a FGP of 63.0% and 3PT: 45.0%.
