The most exciting game of round 7 in the Liga de Ascenso took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed L.Borges (12-7) to first ranked Larranaga (14-5) 91-90 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of L.Borges. Larranaga forced 22 L.Borges turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Larranaga looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized Argentinian power forward Agustin Zuvich (201-1995) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Gabriel Brun (175-2003) helped adding 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side point guard Nicolas Pereyra (180-1999) responded with 22 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Larranaga have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-5 record, which they share with Verdirrojo. L.Borges at the other side keep the fourth position with seven games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Lagomar (#6) and Marne (#7). Lagomar (11-8) crushed visiting Marne (7-13) by 25 points 85-60. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Santiago Wohlwend (172-1997) who led the winners and scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Hector Castro accounted for 15 points. Brazilian center Joao Fidelis (205-2001) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for Marne in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lagomar have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Olimpia. Marne lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Verdirrojo (#2) and Olimpia (#5). Olimpia was defeated at home 79-89 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Federico Haller fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dwayne Russell produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds for lost side. Olimpia's coach Federico Camina rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Verdirrojo (14-5) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Larranaga. Loser Olimpia keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Lagomar.
In the last two games of round 7 Montevideo lost to Tabare on the opponent's court 76-94. Atenas managed to outperform Colon in a home game 72-61.
