Top ranked D.Sporting (12-2) recorded its second loss in Montevideo on Friday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Malvin (11-3) 65-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of D.Sporting. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Argentinian Camila Suarez (178-2000) produced 18 points and 5 assists for the guests. D.Sporting's coach Fabian Boscardin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Malvin have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Yale. Defending champion D.Sporting still keeps top position with two games lost.

It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of 25 de Agosto. Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-1998) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 6 assists. Antonella Ugolini contributed with 18 points and 5 steals for the winners. Argentinian guard Rocio Bereilh (165-2001) replied with 28 points and 6 assists for 25 de Agosto. Urunday have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 7-7 record. 25 de Agosto at the other side keeps the sixth place with five games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Montevideo. Third ranked Yale faced 4th ranked Aguada. Host Yale (11-3) smashed guests from Aguada (6-9) 72-51. Worth to mention a great performance of Carina Laborde who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 steals. Yale's coach Gino Alderete felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Agustina Garcia responded with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Yale have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Malvin. Aguada lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost.

In the last game of round 8 winless Cordon was crushed by Juventud in Las Piedras 74-39.

There was no surprise in Las Piedras where bottom-ranked Cordon (0-14) was crushed by eighth ranked Juventud (6-8) 74-39 on Friday. Juventud held Cordon to an opponent 21.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Juventud forced 29 Cordon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Cordon's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian point guard Melina Niz (165-2005, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Catalina Pereira (176-2004, agency: BIG) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Forward Victoria Cardone (160-1994) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and Cecilia Pedetti scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Juventud maintains eighth position with 6-8 record. Newly promoted Cordon still closes the standings with 14 games lost.
