Higgs' 28 points and 6 rebounds give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old American guard Devon Higgs (196-G-2000, agency: JCK Sports Group) put on an amazing game in the last round for Atletico Cordon Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had the game-high 28 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Cordon in his team's victory, helping them to beat Welcome (#12, 1-15) 86-73. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Cordon maintains the 11th position in Uruguayan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 13 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Higgs had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Cordon's top player in his first season with the team. Devon Higgs averages just after two games 23.0ppg. Worth to mention Higgs played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Jordan O'Neal (201-F/C-2001, agency: JCK Sports Group). He is American forward in his first season at Cordon. In the last game O'Neal recorded an impressive double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Of course together with Higgs he helped Atletico Cordon Montevideo with another comfortable win 86-73 over slightly lower-ranked Welcome (#12, 1-15) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Cordon keeps 11th position. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Cordon managed to get this year. O'Neal is a newcomer at Cordon and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Jhery Matos (196-SG-1996) of Atletico Bigua Montevideo (#6). Matos showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Bigua, leading his team to a 87-74 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Urunday (#8, 7-9). Bigua needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 7 lost games. Matos has a great season in Uruguay. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.3ppg (6th best).
