Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Penarol (#1) and Bigua (#6). Penarol (18-2) smashed visiting Bigua (11-10) by 22 points 98-76. Guard Santiago Vescovi (191-2001, college: Tennessee) fired 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Naturalized Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Deshone Hicks (178-1999, college: Ferrum) produced 29 points and 4 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Penarol have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record. Bigua at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Defensor.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Hebraica (#5) and Malvin (#4). Hebraica (12-7) won against visiting Malvin (13-8) 87-83. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Myke Henry (198-1992, college: DePaul) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. Federico Haller contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Hebraica's coach Leonardo Zylberstein allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Joshua Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) replied with 22 points and 6 assists for Malvin. Hebraica maintains fifth position with 12-7 record. Malvin at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost.

Federico Soto scored 16 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Ernesto Oglivie responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defensor moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bigua. Defending champion Nacional keeps the third position with seven games lost.

Rest of the games of round 22 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Urunday crushed Cordon in Montevideo 106-78. Bottom-ranked Welcome was beaten by Defensor at home 77-91. Goes lost to Aguada on the opponent's court 64-70. Aguada managed to outperform U.Atletica in a home game 90-76.
The best stats of 22th round was 26 points and 13 rebounds by Earl Clark of Aguada.



Cordon - Urunday 78-106

There was no surprise in Montevideo where 11th ranked Cordon (3-18) was crushed by ninth ranked Urunday (9-12) 106-78 on Monday. Urunday outrebounded Cordon 43-32 including 28 on the defensive glass. Urunday looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Hollis Thompson (203-1991, college: Georgetown) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Santiago Massa (190-1997) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Urunday players scored in double figures. Urunday's coach Mauricio Gonzalez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Addison Spruill (195-1993, college: UNCW) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Jordan ONeal (201-2001, college: Jackson St., agency: JCK Sports Group) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Urunday maintains ninth position with 9-12 record. Cordon lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Welcome.

However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory.
