Uruguay claimed the third straight win at the 2027 World Cup Americas Qualifiers Group D. They stamped Argentina for 3-0 record atop of the standings. Joaquin Rodriguez (194-F-1999) scored 20 points, while Emiliano Serres (204-F-1997) netted 14 points for the winners.
Uruguay held the hosts to just 7 points in the second frame to gain an 8-point halftime lead 30-22. Argentina responded with a stifling defence of their own in the third period. They cut the deficit to 6 points heading into the fourth frame. But Uruguay struck right back with a 20-9 rally in the final term to ice the victory.
