Broncos ink Hector Ortega for the SLB 2021 Cup

Broncos BBC de Caracas (SLB) agreed terms with 21-year old Venezuelan swingman Hector Ortega (195cm) for the upcoming SLB 2021 Cup. He played last summer at Toros in Panamanian LPB league. In only one game he recorded 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. He also played for Brillantes in Venezuelan SLB where in 10 games he had 8.6ppg and 4.4rpg.
Ortega represented Venezuela at the South American Championships U17 in Lima (Peru) four years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 5.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.4apg, 1.4spg, FGP: 37.0%, FT: 56.3%.
He has played previously for Guerreros.
Despite young age he had impressive career. His team won Venezuelan LED 1 West Conference Regular Season in 2019. Ortega was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan SLB Rookie of the Year in 2020.
