Marinos de Anzoategui (SPB) added to their roster experienced 40-year old Dominican forward Jack Michael Martinez (201cm-107kg-1981). The last time (2018) he played at Bameso in TBS league in Dominican Republic. Martinez missed last four seasons and had longer break from professional basketball.
He represented Dominican Republic at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz (Mexico) eight years ago. Martinez's team won Gold and his stats at that event were 5 games: Score-5 (15.0ppg), 7.6rpg, 1.8apg, Blocks-5 (1.0bpg), FGP: 39.3%, 3PT-1 (57.1%), FT: 51.7%.
Martinez is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, Puerto Rico (Gallitos and Capitanes), Spain, Venezuela (Trotamundos), Dominican Republic (San Lazaro, Soles, Metros, La Mattica and Leones) and Mexico (Halcones UV Xalapa). His team won Venezuelan LPB Regular Season in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Martinez was voted Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Republic Player of the Year back in 4000 and 2001.

The scouts decsribe him following way: The nephew of Soterio Ramirez, who has yet made a name of himself; great rebounding skills, both in offense and in defense; has yet to develop his offensive skills;
The nephew of Soterio Ramirez, who has yet made a name by himself; a car accident in late 2000 nearly killed him and could have left him paralyzed. He suffered a slipped disk and was outfitted with a plastic body cast from his neck to his lower waist. Martinez was bedridden for nearly three months, then worked hard to get back on top and has now fully recovered from his injuries.
change his Outlook as follows:
Started playing inside, thanks to his great rebounding skills at both sides of the court; now, he is well adapting to the PF position; he again excels at the offfensive rebound for timing and hustle; good scorer inside, has now developed a very good shot from the middle distance, and can hit some 3 pointer too; he's undersized, but very strong, and excels in dirty work; good defender inside, even versus higher opponents; he is also a superb ball-distributor, always looking for and finding the open man when double-teamed; his perimetral skills are further improving;
