SPB Round 33: Guaros lose to Brillantes in the game between Top 4 teams- September 5, 2022

Cangrejeros - Supersonicos 64-88 The game in Maturin supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Supersonicos (6-10) played at the court of 5th ranked Cangrejeros (4-17). Supersonicos smashed Cangrejeros 88-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Dominican Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) who scored 24 points. The former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-1986, college: Northeastern St.) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Supersonicos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Emiro Hernandez (188-1994) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-1989) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Dominican forward Antonio Pena (204-1986, college: Villanova) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American power forward Charles Thomas (202-1986, college: Arkansas) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Brillantes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Cuban power forward Marlon Diaz (200-1998, agency: Pro Sports) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Puerto Rican Alexander Abreu (179-1991, college: UWG) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brillantes maintains second place with 14-8 record having just five point less than leader Centauros, which they share with Broncos. Naturalized Colombian Luis Almanza (196-1991) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Kelvin Caraballo (198-1988) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Heroes in the defeat. Centauros have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-4 record. Heroes at the other side keep the third position with 12 games lost.
