Marinos-de-Anzoategui (SPB) signed Colombian international power forward Tonny Trocha-Morelos (208cm-104kg, college: Texas A&M) for upcoming 2023 season. Trocha-Morelos just played at HK Eastern in Hong Kong D1 league. In 11 games he had 10.8ppg, 8.0rpg, 3.0apg and 1.2spg last season. The last summer he played at Titanes in Colombian Liga Wplay. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 22 Colombian Liga Wplay games he recorded 9.9ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2bpg. 2022-22 was a great season as he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Colombian LPB Apertura Defensive Player of the Year, Latinbasket.com All-Colombian LPB Clausura Defensive Player of the Year and Center of the Year. He also played 19 games in Colombian Liga Wplay where he averaged 11.6ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.1apg and 1.8bpg. 2022-22 was a great season as he was selected Latinbasket.com All-Colombian LPB Apertura Defensive Player of the Year, Latinbasket.com All-Colombian LPB Clausura Defensive Player of the Year and Center of the Year. Trocha-Morelos also played 7 games in Liga Sudamericana where he got 4.7ppg and 5.1rpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals.
Trocha-Morelos has been a member of Colombian international program for some years. He has been regularly called to Colombian senior team since 2010 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2012.
Trocha-Morelos is quite experienced player. He has played in four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Trocha-Morelos has played previously professionally in Argentina (Boca), Bulgaria (Chernomorets), Sweden (Jamtland) and Colombia (Warriors).
He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 and it is his fifth season as a professional player.
