Glen Rice Jr. gets MVP of the Week award for Venezuelan SPB (by Hoops Agents)- March 28, 2023
The 31-year old forward had the game-high 28 points adding seven rebounds and five assists for Brillantes in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Broncos (#1, 3-2) 90-88. It allowed Brillantes to jump to the first place in the Venezuelan SPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Brillantes has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Rice Jr. just recently signed at Brillantes, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Glen Rice Jr. averages just after three games 16.3ppg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Dominican Rep. point guard Richard Bautista (185-PG-1997) of Heroes. Bautista impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as Heroes was edged by slightly higher-ranked Gaiteros (3-2) 84-83. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Western Conference West. Heroes still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Bautista is one of the most experienced players at Heroes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.6ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 4.6rpg and 8.6apg. The third best performed player last round was American Aaron Fuller (198-F-1989, agency: Haylett Sports) of Gigantes (#4). Fuller scored 27 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Fuller's great performance Gigantes lost 78-79 to #3 ranked Marinos. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Gigantes can only dream about fighting for top spots in Eastern Conference North. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Fuller has individually a great season in Venezuela. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 10.3rpg (2nd best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Erik McCree (202-PF-1993) of Broncos - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Justin Satchell (203-C-1995) of Guaiqueries - 23 points and 13 rebounds 6. Rodney Green (197-G-1988) of Guaros - 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 7. Tanksley Efianayi (198-G/F-1994) of Guaiqueries - 31 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Jordan Adams (196-SG-1994) of Gladiadores - 23 points and 11 rebounds 9. Yerri Flores (188-PG-1996) of Llaneros - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Jhornan Zamora (196-G/F-1989) of Trotamundos - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
