Venezuela's Senior NT starts training for the 2023 Panamerican Games

Venezuela's Senior National Team started working out in Caracas for the upcoming 2023 Panamerican Games, to be played in Santiago, Chile, later this month.

The team coached by Argentinian Eduardo Pinto has 14 players available at El Poliedrito, including Eduglatriz Castro (178-F-2004), Yosimar Corrales (184-PF-1990), Guadalupe Diaz (163-PG-1999), Nahomy Fajardo (180-F-2005), Marielka Garate (183-F-1995), Ivaney Marquez (181-F-1983, college: Grayson County), Yolimar Martinez (184-C-1995), Keisi Moreno (180-C-2001), Waleska Perez (180-G-1994, college: Weatherford JC), Barbara Pico (168-PG-2002), Leudys Quevedo (183-F/C-1998), Gisell Ramirez (183-F/C-2004), Jormelys Urbina (170-PG-1996) and Luisanny Zapata (165-SG-2001).

Another three players who are active overseas are expected to join in the upcoming days: Mariana Duran (172-PG-1993, college: Okla City), Aguehil Fajardo (183-PF-1999) and Genesis Rivera (180-G/F-1996, college: UMass).

Meanwhile, Nohelia Chile (191-C-2002) and Daniela Wallen Morillo (179-SF-1995, college: Okla City) did not receive authorization from their respective teams to participate in this event and will stay active in their foreign leagues, according to the press release issued by the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB).

Venezuela's first game will take place against Colombia on October 25th and they'll also face Brazil (October 26th) and Mexico (October 27th).
