SPB 2024 Jose Vargas (Guaros) drafted by Toros, will play with his son

Toros de Aragua (SPB) drafted the experienced 42-year old former international 195cm swingman Jose Vargas, agency: Pro Sports for the SPB 2024 season. Vargas, who played last summer at Guaros in the SPB. In 31 games he recorded 11.8ppg, 6.7rpg and 4.5apg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. A very spectacular year in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan SPB Honorable Mention.
Vargas was also a member of Venezuelan international program for some years. He played for Venezuelan Senior National Team between 2006 and 2021 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2000.
Vargas also represented Venezuela at the World Cup in China five years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 2.8ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.0spg.

Vargas will become the first player in the history of Venezuela ever to play alongside a son, since Jose Vargas (junior) is also part of the team.
He has played also professionally in Argentina (La Union) and Mexico (Algodoneros, Ola Verde, Fuerza Regia and Soles) and Venezuela (Guaros de Lara 2nd team, Panteras, Marinos, Trotamundos and Gaiteros). Vargas won Venezuelan LNB championship title in 2013 and 2017. He was selected to Latinbasket.com Venezuelan LPB All-Domestic Players Team back in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Toros.
