SLFB 2024 - Pastoras and Indias win in Opening Day

Pastoras de Lara (1-0) and Indias de Miranda (1-0) got their first victories of the 2024 season of Venezuela's Superliga Femenina de Baloncesto (SLFB), by taking down Capitalinas de Distrito Capital (0-1) and Mineras de Cojedes (0-1), respectively, while Gaiteras del Zulia (0-0) and Caribenas de Caracas (0-0) are yet to play their first game of the regular season.

Yolimar Martinez (184-C-1995) led Pastoras (1-0) with a double double of 17 points and 19 rebounds while Fabiana Hernandez (2006) added 21 points, 4 rebounds and a couple of assists, guiding their team to victory against Capitalinas (0-1), 70-64, at Jose Joaquin Carrillo Arena in Caracas. Fabiana Garcia (169-PG-2006) scored 20 points for Capitalinas.

Meanwhile, Indias dominated Mineras, 93-64, thanks to a brilliant game by Mezharith Beleno, who finished up with 24 points, 7 rebounds and one assist at Federico Sanchez Arena in Tinaquillo, Cojedes.
