Brillantes de Zulia (SPB) landed 33-year old American 198cm forward Glen Rice Jr. (college: Georgia Tech). It is actually his comeback to Caracas as he has played here before. Rice played last summer at Power (Big3) in the U.S. He also played for Brillantes de Zulia in Venezuelan SPB where in 21 games he averaged impressive 16.0ppg, 6.4rpg, 4.0apg and 1.3spg. Rice was also voted League Player of the Week. The other team he played shortly was Power in U.S. semi-pro league Big3.
In 2012 he was drafted by Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League) in fourth round (55th overall).
He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and it will be his 13th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Rice is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in fifteen different countries playing on five different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. Rice has played previously professionally in Argentina (Instituto), Australia (New Zealand Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Ahli), Iran (Chemidor), Israel (Hapoel Holon and Next Urban Maccabi Haifa), Lithuania (Juventus), Mexico (Aaguacateros and Halcones de Ciudad Obregon), Philippines (TNT Tropang), Puerto Rico (Criollos), Saudi Arabia (Al Fateh), Dominican Republic (Plaza and Reales), El Salvador (Halcones), ABA (Atlanta Aliens), UBA (Georgia Spartans) and Nicaragua (Real Esteli). His team was regular season runner-up in Mexican CIBACOPA in 2017 and 2019. He was selected to Latinbasket.com Mexican CIBACOPA All-Imports Team back in 2017 and 2019.
