The main board of Venezuela's Superliga Femenina de Baloncesto (SLFB) confirmed through a press release and official posts in its social media accounts, that Mineras de Cojedes has decided to withdraw from the tournament, due to a lack of financial support from the sponsors to complete the regular season.

Part of the team's players had complained last week through an Instagram post about the team not continuing to practice and them not being informed of what was going on with them. Mineras started the season with a 0-4 record and it took almost two weeks for the main board of the league to finally clarify the situation.

It is not clear if the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB) will remove the records of the games this franchise played or not, but what's clear is that the franchise will be properly evaluated to receive a strong sanction, which could affect its future as part of the any future editions of this league.

The technical board of the tournament has announced that the players of this franchise are now free to sign with other teams.

Among the affected players are talents such as Danielis Ysasis (180-F-2004), Floranghel Garcia (155-PG-2004), Romina Mudarra (180-SF-2005), Julieth Sivira (162-G-2003), Alexandra Blanco, Ramieris Rios (1994), Evanis Sanchez and Milcar Medina (2004), just to name a few.

The tournament will then be completed by Caribenas de Caracas, Capitalinas de Distrito Capital, Gaiteras del Zulia, Indias de Miranda and Pastoras de Lara.
