Michael Watkins gets MVP of the Week award for Venezuelan SPB (by Hoops Agents)

American Michael Watkins (206-F-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for Piratas de la Guaira and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 28-year old forward had a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Guaiqueries (#5, 4-3) 73-63. Piratas is placed at 3rd position in Venezuelan SPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Piratas will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Watkins had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Piratas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. The Pennsylvania State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Watkins leads league in rebounds with 14.3rpg. Watkins is in league's top in and averages solid 3.7bpg and 56.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young former international guard Yeferson Guerra (192-G-2003, agency: Pro Sports) of Panteras de Miranda. Guerra impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 33 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Panteras lost that game 81-88 to slightly higher-ranked Centauros (#7, 3-6). This loss caused Panteras to drop to 9th position in Group II. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Panteras managed to get this year. Guerra is one of the most experienced players at Panteras and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Elijah Tillman (203-C) of Toros de Aragua (#9). Tillman scored 16 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). Despite Tillman's great performance the Toros lost 81-91 to the higher-ranked Spartans (#4, 4-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Toros can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group I. They have rather bad season and 2-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Tillman has individually a great season in Venezuela. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.5rpg (5th best).

10. Andre Nation (196-PF-1993) of Heroes - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
