Yerri Flores gets MVP of the Week award for Venezuelan SPB

Dominican Rep. Yerri Flores (188-PG-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Llaneros de Guarico and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 27-year old playmaker had the game-high 30 points adding four rebounds and four assists for Llaneros in his team's victory, helping them to beat Toros (#9, 2-10) 95-90. Llaneros maintains the 8th position in their group in the Venezuelan SPB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Llaneros have already lost 9 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Flores had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Llaneros' top player in his first season with the team. High School graduate has very impressive stats this year. Flores is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.7ppg) and averages solid 52.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Will Davis II (203-F-1992) of Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas. Davis II impressed basketball fans with 34 points and 4 rebounds. Bad luck as Spartans was edged by the higher-ranked Trotamundos (#2, 10-3) 98-94. This loss caused Spartans to drop to 7th position in Group I. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-8 record. Davis II is one of the most experienced players at Spartans and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Dominican Rep. Richard Bautista (185-PG-1997, agency: BMS Sport Agency) of Brillantes de Zulia (#5). Bautista showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Brillantes, leading his team to a 91-51 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Pioneros (#3, 7-6). Brillantes needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group I. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Bautista has a great season in Venezuela. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (9th best) and assists with 7.7apg (2nd best). He also has 2.5spg and a FGP of 58.2%.
