Lamonte Bearden gets MVP of the Week award for Venezuelan SPB

American Lamonte Bearden (191-G-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for Frontinos Del Tachira and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 28-year old guard had the game-high 22 points adding eight rebounds and seven assists for Frontinos in his team's victory, helping them to beat Broncos (#4, 7-6) 88-80. Thanks to this victory Frontinos moved-up to the 7th position in Venezuelan SPB. Frontinos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-9 record. Bearden just recently signed at Frontinos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Western Kentucky University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bearden is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 5.6apg) and averages solid 2.6spg and 40.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Dominican Rep. point guard Yerri Flores (188-PG-1996) of Llaneros de Guarico. Flores impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Llaneros lost that game 74-79 to the higher-ranked Pioneros (#3, 9-6). Llaneros managed to keep the same 8th spot in Group I. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Llaneros managed to get this year. Flores is one of the most experienced players at Llaneros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Jordan Williams (196-G/F-1992) of Broncos BBC de Caracas (#4). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Williams' great performance the Broncos lost 80-88 to the lower-ranked Frontinos (#7, 5-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Broncos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the Group I. Their record is 7 victories and 6 lost games. Williams has a great season in Venezuela. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.1ppg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
