SLFB 2024 - Pastoras (8-3) sweep Caribenas (7-5), Gaiteras (4-6) get even against Capitalinas (3-6)

Pastoras de Lara (8-3) completed a sweep over Caribenas de Caracas (7-5) at Napoleon Rodriguez Arena in Barquisimeto, Lara, by taking the second game of a two-game series, 70-62, while Gaiteras del Zulia (4-6) saved their honor as hosts at Belisario Aponte Arena in Maracaibo, Zulia, by taking revenge on Capitalinas de Distrito Capital (3-6) and splitting the two-game series, thanks to a victory, 81-68.

Genesis Rivera (180-G/F-1996, college: UMass) was the MVP for Pastoras by completing a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, adding 5 assists. Meanwhile, Mariana Duran (172-PG-1993, college: Okla City) added 13 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Nicole Garcia (174-SG-2001) added 11 points, 3 assists and a couple of rebounds and Fabiana Hernandez (173-PG-2006) finished up with 10 points, 2 assists and a rebound.

Gaiteras enjoyed a dominant performance by Cuban Nayara Espinosa (189-C-2001), who completed a double double with 29 points and 10 rebounds, adding a couple of assists. Maria Sanchez (1998) added 13 points, 2 rebounds and an assist.
