SPB 2024 - Durrell Summers (ex Culiacan) signs at Brillantes

Durrell Summers

Brillantes de Zulia (SPB) landed experienced 35-year old American (has also Mexican passport) 196cm small forward Durrell Summers (college: Michigan State). Summers played this summer at Caballeros de Culiacan in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 12 games just recently he averaged impressive 23.5ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.0apg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Summers also played for Indomables (LBE) in Mexican league.
In 2011 he was drafted by Maine Red Claws (D-League) in second round (8th overall).
He graduated from Michigan State and it will be his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Summers is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in thirteen different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Summers has played previously professionally in Argentina (Bahia, Echague and Olimpo), Australia, Chile (Concepcion, Valdivia, Osorno and Puerto Montt), Finland (Karhubasket), France, Germany (Eisbaeren Bremerhaven), Hungary, Israel, Uruguay (Hebraica), Mexico (Dorados, Frayles de Guasave, Dorados, Rayos de Hermosillo and Mineros), NBA G League (Greensboro Swarm), Venezuela (Centauros) and Mongolia (Apes and Umnugovi). He was also voted to Latinbasket.com Chilean Liga Nacional All-Imports Team back in 2016 and 2017.
Summers won Mexican LBE championship title in 2021.
