SLFB 2024 - Pastoras and Caribenas win in the Semifinals and advance to the Finals

Pastoras de Lara and Caribenas de Caracas will play in a one-game only clash for the title of Venezuela's Superliga Femenina de Baloncesto 2024 (SLFB), next Sunday (July 14th), after earning wins in the "sudden death" Semifinals round against Capitalinas de Distrito Capital and Gaiteras del Zulia, respectively.

Pastoras played at Napoleon Rodriguez Arena in Barquisimeto, earning the right after finishing the first round with a 12-4 record at the top of the standings, as the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB) opted to erase any games played by the folded Mineras de Cojedes (0-4) of the tournament's official records.

Cuban Anisleidys Galindo (181-SG-1989) led the way with 20 points and 8 rebounds, followed by Genesis Rivera (180-G/F-1996, college: UMass) with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, Mariana Duran (172-PG-1993, college: Okla City) with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Odeth Betancourt (188-F-2000, college: WKU) with a double double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Caribenas had Ivaney Marquez (181-F-1983, college: Grayson County) as the top performer with 12 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds, while Barbara Pico (168-PG-2002) added 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 steals.

Gaiteras fought hard but at the end, Stefany Ferrer (177-SF-2005) scored 17 points while Nohelia Chile (191-C-2002) added 7 points and 4 boards.

The Finals will be played at Napoleon Rodriguez Arena in Barquisimeto, Lara, home court of Pastoras.
