Farmer's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

30-year old American forward Tony Farmer (201-F-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Marinos de Oriente and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team edged out Spartans (#5, 5-4) 78-74. Marinos maintains the 2nd position in Venezuelan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Marinos will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Farmer had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Marinos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lee College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Farmer is in league's top in points (5th best: 16.6ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Brian Guidi (200-F/C-1991) of Toros de Aragua. He is a forward in his second season at Toros. In the last game Guidi recorded an impressive 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Toros was edged by the higher-ranked Brillantes (#10, 4-6) 82-79. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Toros keeps 13th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Guidi is well-known at Toros and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Jassel Perez (195-G/F-2001) of Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas (#5). Perez scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Perez's great performance the Spartans lost 74-78 to the higher-ranked Marinos (#2, 7-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Spartans needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Perez has a great season in Venezuela. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.3ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 6.8rpg (9th best). He also has 2.1spg and a FGP of 62.8%.
