SPB top team - Gaiteros (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Trotamundos (5-6) in Maracaibo 102-81. Gaiteros made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Swingman Luis Duarte (190-1994) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. American swingman Micheal Warren (196-1995, college: CSUN) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Naturalized American Donta Smith (201-1983, college: SE Illinois JC) replied with 9 points and 7 assists for Trotamundos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
