Venezuela's 2025 edition of Women's first division basketball, Superliga Femenina (SLFB), will begin its regular season on April 27th with a total of six (6) franchises in action, including two new organizations.

Defending champions Pastoras de Lara and runner-up Caribenas de Caracas will continue to be a part of the league, alongside Capitalinas de Distrito Capital and Gaiteras del Zulia. The two new franchises will be Marquesas de Barinas and Diosas de Guacara.

These last two teams will replace Mineras de Cojedes (withdrew after 4 games due to a lack of resources) and Indias de Miranda (eliminated at the end of the regular season).

Pastoras took down Caribenas de Caracas 86-71 in the 2024 Finals, played at Napoleon Rodriguez Arena in Barquisimeto, Lara, Venezuela.

Led by two players of the Venezuelan Senior National Team, Odeth Betancourt (188-F-2000, college: WKU) and Mariana Duran (172-PG-1993, college: Okla City), alongside Cuban Anisleidys Martinez (181-SG-1989), Pastoras was very dominant, as they also led the standings during the regular season. Both Betancourt and Duran are now playing overseas.

Here's a look at the last franchises to win a national tournament in Venezuela's Women's basketball:
