SPB 2025 - Edwin Mijares joins Marinos via Playoffs Draft

Marinos de Oriente (SPB) landed 32-year old international 186cm point guard Edwin Mijares in the SPB 2025 Playoffs Draft. Mijares moved there from Piratas. In 14 SPB games just recently he averaged 10.9ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.9apg and 1.3spg last season.
He also represented Venezuela at the Panamerican Games in Santiago (Chile) two years ago.
Mijares is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Argentina (Dep Viedma), Colombia, Paraguay (Colonias), Venezuela (Cocodrilos, Guaiqueries, Toros, Gigantes and Araguenos), Chile (Ancud) and El Salvador (Metapan). His team made it to the LNB Semifinals in 2016 and 2017.
Among many awards he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Paraguayan LNB Clausura Import Player of the Year in 2024.
