SLFB 2025 - Round 4 - Caribenas, Diosas and Pastoras relentless at the top

Caribenas de Caracas (8-1), Diosas de Guacara (6-1) and Pastoras de Lara (4-2) completed two-game sweeps in their respective Round 4 series to keep their places at the top3 of the standings in Venezuela's Superliga Femenina de Baloncesto (SLFB) 2025.

Caribenas played as visitors against Gaiteras del Zulia (0-8) at Belisario Aponte Arena, dominating the first game 65-45 and then also taking the second one, 80-40.

Barbara Pico (168-PG-2002) led the way in the first game with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals, followed by Eduglatriz Castro (178-F-2004) with 12 points and 8 rebounds, Waleska Perez (180-G-1994, college: Weatherford JC) with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Aguehil Fajardo (183-PF-1999) with 10 points and 8 rebounds. For Gaiteras, Yorgelis Zapata scored 9 points with 5 boards.

In the second game, Caribenas crushed Gaiteras, 80-40. Barbara Pico shined with 19 points and 7 assists, Aguehil Fajardo added a double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds and so did Eduglatriz Castro with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Waleska Perez finished up with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Again, Yorgelis Zapata was the lone star for the hosts with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals.

Meanwhile, Diosas had no problems as hosts at Loma Linda Arena in Guacara, Carabobo, to defeat Marquesas de Barinas (3-5) twice. The first game ended with a 41-point margin win, 93-52.

Yohanny Uribe scored 20 points and handed out 5 assists to lead the winners, getting help from Guadalupe Diaz (163-PG-1999) with 19 points and 4 assists, Nohelia Chile (191-C-2002) with a double double of 17 points and 12 rebounds and Leudys Quevedo (183-F/C-1998) with 15 points and 9 rebounds. For Marquesas, Ivonny Seijas (2006) netted 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Diosas suffered a little bit more to complete the sweep, winning the second game, 66-58. Guadalupe Diaz led the scorers with 21 points, Yohanny Uribe added 14 points, Leudys Quevedo completed a double double with 11 points and 12 boards and so did Nohelia Chile with 11 points and 17 rebounds. For Marquesas, Floranghel Garcia (155-PG-2004) netted 24 points and Ivonny Seijas added 13 with 10 rebounds.

Pastoras took down Capitalinas de Distrito Capital (3-7) two times at Napoleon Rodriguez Arena in Barquisimeto, Lara, 79-64 and 64-50.

Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-SF-1995, college: Okla City) was unstoppable in the first game with 17 points, 20 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals, while Nicole Garcia (174-SG-2001) added 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Fabiana Hernandez (173-PG-2006) also netted 16 points, adding 4 assists. Hillary Perez finished up with 10 points. For Capitalinas, Diadenis Vitrago (160-PG-1998) scored 15 points.

In the second game, Daniela Morillo-Wallen provided another spectacular show with 27 points and 20 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Nicole Garcia added 12 points. For Capitalinas, Jessuana Machado (176-SF-2004) completed a double double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
