SLFB 2025 - Round 9 - Pastoras and Diosas were relentless as visitors- July 6, 2025

Pastoras de Lara (12-6) and Diosas de Guacara (13-5) were relentless as visitors and completed two-game sweeps over Capitalinas de Distrito Capital (7-12) and Marquesas de Barinas (3-15), as Round 9 was completed in Venezuela's Superliga Nacional de Baloncesto Femenino (SLFB) 2025.
Pastoras visited Capitalinas in Caracas and had an unbelievable display with equally unbelievable results, as they won both games with the exact same scoreboard, 89-58. The team now coached by Diego Vasquez, took the first game thanks to a dominant display of power by Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-SF-1995, college: Okla City), who netted 26 points and added 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 steals and a block. Genesis Rivera (180-G/F-1996, college: UMass) added 17 points, Greydismar Camacaro (167-SG-2009) finished up with 15 points and Fabiana Hernandez (173-PG-2006) with 10, 3 steals and 3 assists. For Capitalinas, Jessuana Machado (176-SF-2004) netted 16, grabbed 6 rebounds and blocked a shot, while Barbara Herrera (180-PF) finished up with 11 points and 9 boards. In the second match, it was Mariana Duran (172-PG-1993, college: Okla City) who led the way for the visitors with 15 points and 3 assists. Daniela Morillo-Wallen followed her with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 9 steals and a block, Fabiana Hernandez contributed with 13 points and 3 assists and Genesis Rivera completed a double double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and a couple of blocks. For the hosts, Diadenis Vitrago (160-PG-1998) finished up with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals, while Camila Garcia added 8 points and 5 rebounds. Meanwhile, Diosas had a blast against Marquesas in Barinas, winning 89-71 in the first match and then 86-41 in the second one. Yoliannys Uribe was key in the first game with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Darleska Perez (175-PF-2007) added 14 points and 3 steals, Vanessa Reyes (2007) 12 more with 5 rebounds and 5 assists, Leudys Quevedo (183-F/C-1998) 12 more with 4 rebounds, 5 assists and a blocked shot and Nohelia Chile (191-C-2002) with 10 points, 3 assists and 3 blocks. For the hosts, Ivonny Seijas (2006) finished up with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals, Edglimar Montero (176-PF-2003) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Leilys Albrujas added 11 more with 5 assists, 3 steals and a block. In the second game, Vanessa Reyes was unstoppable with 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals, Saray Sumoza added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, Darleska Perez supported the winning side with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block and both Luisana Caldera and Yoliannys Uribe finished up with 10 points, Caldera with 6 rebounds and 3 assists and Uribe with 4 assists and a couple of blocks to her account. For Marquesas, Edglimar Montero ended with 14 points, 10 rebounds and a block and Ivonny Seijas added 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and another block. |
