SLFB 2025 - Round 10 - Diosas holds on to second place, Pastoras finish at third place

Diosas de Guacara (15-5) swept Gaiteras del Zulia (2-18) as visitors in Maracaibo to finish at second place of the regular season in Venezuela's Superliga Femenina de Baloncesto (SLFB) 2025, while Pastoras de Lara (14-6) dominated Marquesas de Barinas (3-17) in Barquisimeto but it wasn't enough to avoid finishing at third place, all of it as part of Round 10.

Diosas took down Gaiteras 62-45 and 79-67 at Pedro Elias Belisario Aponte Arena in Maracaibo, Zulia. In the first game, Nohelia Chile (191-C-2002) led the way with an impressive performance, including 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks.

She got help from Guadalupe Diaz (163-PG-1999) with 13 points and Yoliannys Uribe with 12 and 5 rebounds. For Gaiteras, Danielis Ysasis (180-F-2004) finished up with 9 points, 5 rebounds and a block and Julieth Sivira (162-G-2003) added 8 points, 4 assists and 5 steals.

In the second match, Yoliannys Uribe netted 27 points, Nohelia Chile added 24 with 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Guadalupe Diaz followed them with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. For Gaiteras, Julieth Sivira scored 22 points and handed out 6 assists while Fabiola Morales scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Caribenas de Caracas (19-1) completed the regular season at the top of the standings with an easy win over Capitalinas de Distrito Capital (7-13), 71-47. Aguehil Fajardo (183-PF-1999) scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds while Barbara Pico (168-PG-2002) added 12 points and 5 steals. For Capitalinas, Joan Ramirez (161-PG) netted 12 points and stole 3 balls while Fabiana Garcia (169-PG-2006) scored 12 points.

Pastoras dominated Marquesas at Napoleon Rodriguez Arena of Barquisimeto, Lara, 97-59 and 71-54.

Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-SF-1995, college: Okla City) was too much for the visitors in the first game with 22 points, 4 assists, 8 steals and a block. Mariana Duran (172-PG-1993, college: Okla City) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Odeth Betancourt (188-F-2000, college: WKU) went on with a double double of 12 points, 11 rebounds and a block, Genesis Rivera (180-G/F-1996, college: UMass) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals and Roberli Perez (158-PG-2009) finished up with 10 points and 4 assists.

For Marquesas, Ivonny Seijas (2006) netted 20 points and added 7 rebounds and a block, Leilys Albrujas added 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals and Edglimar Montero (176-PF-2003) scored 12 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

In the second game, Daniela Morillo-Wallen was also the main star with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists, getting help from Odeth Betancourt with 16 points, 17 rebounds and a block and Mariana Duran with 13 points and 5 assists.

For the visitors, Ivonny Seijas scored 23 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and handed out 6 assists while Leilys Albrujas finished up with 13 points and 5 assists.
