The standout swingman Luis Duarte was selected as the Finals MVP of the championship-winning Gaiteros de Zulia. He received multiple other awards, was honored as the Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the First Team. With Duarte's excellent performance, the Gaiteros de Zulia achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 19 to 3 in the regular season. Duarte's excellent performance assisted his team in beating the Trotamundos 4 to 1 in the final series. He previously earned the Best Sixth Man of the Year back in 2023 and named to Honorable Mention last year selection. Duarte was the Player of the Week honoree twice during the 25 campaign. He averaged almost 13 points and over 6 rebounds per game in the league. Duarte has totalled 6 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 6 games on the year. His 27 points against the Pioneros were the most he scored in the 2025 season.
Gregory Vargas, 39-year old point guard from the Trotamundos de Carabobo, picked up the Guard of the Year at the Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto. He also earned a spot in the First Team. Vargas previously earned Honorable Mention back in 2023, Guard of the Year and voted to the First Team last year. He registered over 12 points per game that season in the league. Vargas led the SPB in assists per game with over 8. He has totalled 2 games of 20 or more points and had double-doubles in 10 games on the year. Vargas' 21 points against the Guaiqueries were the most he scored in the 2025 season.
Sydney Curry, 25-year old American forward from the Marineros de Puerto Plata, was named the Center of the Year of Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto. He graduated from the Grand Canyon State last year. Curry was also selected to the First Team. His court vision propelled him to the fourth spot in points per game an outstanding average of over 18. Curry received Player of the Week award three times during the 25 campaign. He led the SPB in rebounds per game with over 11. Curry has totalled 7 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 2 games. He logged double-doubles in 10 games at the event. Curry's 36 points against the Gladiadores were the most he scored in the 2025 season. 7 out of the top 10 highest scorers in the league are alumni of US colleges. Curry's college team won the WAC Tournament in 2024.
Juan Suero, Dominican guard from the Trotamundos de Carabobo, was chosen to the First Team at the Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto. He previously added Honorable Mention back in 2023 and 2024. Suero's playmaking prowess was on full display as he secured the second position in points per game averaging over 20. He also registered 6 rebounds per game over the season in the league. Suero has totalled 13 games of 20 or more points and notched double-doubles in 3 games on the year. His 32 points against the Spartans were the most he scored in the 2025 season. 7 out of the top 10 highest scorers in the league are alumni of US colleges. Among many awards he was selected as the Latinbasket All-Mexican LNBP Import Player of the Year as well as the All-Mexican LNBP First Team and the All-Imports Team back in 2020. He was also selected to the Latinbasket All-Dominican Republic LNB Second Team back in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2021.
Luis Bethelmy, 38-year old forward from the Trotamundos de Carabobo, was named to the First Team of Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto. He was previously named to Honorable Mention back in 2023 and 2024. Bethelmy's masterful distribution skills earned him the fifth spot in rebounds per game with an impressive average of 8. He also averaged almost 10 points per game in the league. Bethelmy recorded double-doubles in 11 games at the event. His 22 points against the Gladiadores were the most he scored in the 2025 season. Among many awards he was selected to the Latinbasket All-Venezuelan SLB Second Team back in 2020. He was also selected as the Latinbasket All-Venezuelan SPB Honorable Mention between 2023 and 2024.
