SLFB 2025 Finals - Game 3 - Pastoras prevail at home to regain the lead, 2-1

Pastoras de Lara were relentless at home to get a 2-1 lead in Venezuela's Superliga Nacional de Baloncesto (SLFB) 2025 Finals, by taking down Caribenas de Caracas in Game 3, 78-69, at Napoleon Rodriguez Arena in Barquisimeto (Lara), Venezuela.

It was a very even match up until the final 10 minutes, as the game was tied after the end of the first quarter (18-18) and the hosts took the lead right before half time, 39-37.

The third quarter was tied (22-22) so Pastoras entered the last 10 minutes with the same two-point lead (61-59). Then, they played their best defense to limit Caribenas to only 10 points in the last quarter, taking control of it (17-10) to finish nine points ahead (78-69).

Genesis Rivera (180-G/F-1996, college: UMass) was the main star for the locals with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block in 36 minutes of play, followed by Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-SF-1995, college: Okla City) with 17 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.

Mariana Duran (172-PG-1993, college: Okla City) also helped the cause with 12 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds and a steal, while Odeth Betancourt (188-F-2000, college: WKU) added a double double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, including a couple of blocks. Greydismar Camacaro (167-SG-2009) chipped in with 11 points.

For Caribenas, Barbara Pico (168-PG-2002) netted 23 points, adding 4 assists, 3 rebounds and a couple of steals. Astrid Hinojosa (174-PF-2008) added 11 points, 4 rebounds, two assists and two steals and Yesimar Escudero (168-PG-2007) finished up with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals.

Pastoras is now one game away from their second straight SLFB title against the same rivals.
