Venezuelan SG-SF Genesis Rivera (180-G/F-1996, college: UMass) completed her first double double of the season in Portugal's 2025-2026 Liga Feminina in an impressive fashion, by scoring 21 points and grabbing an astonishing 25 rebounds in 36 minutes, in a victory of Sportiva Ponta Delgada (4-4) against Esgueira (3-6), 81-62, as part of Round 8.

Rivera scored 6 out of 11 two-point shots, 2 out of 3 three-point attempts and went perfect from the free-throw line (3-3).

She added 5 assists to her 25 rebounds, alongside a steal and 2 blocks, while fouling 3 times and losing a couple of posessions.

Ana Paz (180-F-1997) added 19 points for the winning side, same as Bella Nascimento (173-G-2002, college: William & Mary), who added 5 assista and 3 steals, while Monique Soares (190-C-1996) finished up with 11 points, 6 boards and a couple of blocks.

Meanwhile, for the losing side, Gabriela Raimundo (167-PG-1993) finished up with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, Taris Thornton (183-F, college: Tenn Tech) followed her with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals and Sofia Kosareva (170-PG-1998) netted 10 points.

Genesis Rivera is averaging 13.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 blocks (second in the league) in 7 games. She's shooting for 52.9% in two-point shots, 38.5% in three-pointers and 66.7% in free-throws.

Her next league game will be against Benfica (5-2) as visitors on December 6th, next Saturday.
