SPB 2026 - Albert Arias traded to Gaiteros, Centauros get Jhoyfer Diaz

Defending champion Gaiteros de Zulia (SPB) added experienced 37-year-old 194cm forward Albert Arias to their roster for the SPB 2026 season through a trade that sent Jhoyfer Diaz (200-C/F-1987) to Centauros de Bolivar. Arias played last summer at Llaneros in the SPB, where he recorded 3.8ppg and 6.1rpg in 22 games.
He has also played in Colombia (Halcones), Spain (Cordobasket), and Venezuela (Trotamundos, Gigantes, Rojos, Acereros, and Diablos).
His team reached the Venezuelan SLB Cup final in 2021. It could be one of the last seasons in his long career, which he might finish at Gaiteros.
Diaz is another journeyman, a 39 year-old PF-C with a 20-year career that has included stints in leagues of Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Argentina.
