Bautista number one in Venezuela SPB for round 16 (by Hoops Agents)

Dominican Rep. Point guard Richard Bautista (185-PG-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 28-year old player got a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Cocodrilos (#2, 7-3) 99-92. Spartans is placed at 5th position in Venezuelan SPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Spartans will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. In the team's last game Bautista had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Spartans, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Richard Bautista has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 6.3apg) and averages impressive 2.9spg,57.8% FGP and 48.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-F-1986) of league's second-best Cocodrilos de Caracas. Bethelmy had a very good evening with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Cocodrilos lost that game 92-99 to the lower-ranked Spartans (#5, 6-3). Despite lost game Cocodrilos moved up to second position in the standings. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Bethelmy is one of the most experienced players at Cocodrilos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Spartans' star - Dominican Rep. guard Juan Suero (196-G-1993). Suero scored 22 points and passed 5 assists. He was another key player of Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas, helping his team with a 99-92 win against the higher-ranked Cocodrilos (#2, 7-3). Spartans needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Suero has a great season in Venezuela. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.3apg (6th best).
