Hidrocarburos de Caracas Crowned Champions in Their Debut Season- June 12, 2026Hidrocarburos de Caracas have completed a dream first campaign, winning the Superliga Profesional Femenina title in their debut season after closing out the best-of-five final (3-1) against Costaneras de Puerto Cabello, with a victory 64-60 as visitors in Puerto Cabello (Carabobo), Venezuela. The capital side seized command of the series at home, taking the opener 75-63 and edging Game 2 73-68 at the Gimnasio Jose Joaquin "Papa" Carrillo to move within a win of the crown. Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-SF-1995, college: Okla City) was the driving force in both, named the most valuable player each night she opened the series with 22 points and 12 rebounds as coach Kervin Bracho's team leaned on the defense and physical preparation he had emphasized heading into the final. Costaneras, fellow debutants, refused to go quietly once the series shifted to the Gimnasio Manuel Antonio Penaloza in Puerto Cabello, taking Game 3 80-76 to stave off elimination and force a fourth game. But Hidrocarburos regrouped to finish the job on the road, sealing the championship and sparking jubilant celebrations as the league crowned its champions. Jormelys Urbina (170-G-1996) led the attack with 17 points, Daniela Morillo-Wallen added 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Waleska Perez (180-G-1994, college: Weatherford JC) added a double double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, alongside 4 assists and a steal. Jessuana Machado finished up with 10 points. QUOTES "The game was intense from start to end. We knew they'd be coming with all their energy today, they needed the victory and yesterday was not favorable at all for us. This time, we went out there focused on ourselves, to work in our game and that was what helped us achieve this championship" "I have discipline and consistency even though I'm a bit lazy to be honest. However, I work a lot in my best qualities and I have a lot of fun on court. I think that helps me generate what I can generate to influence the game. It's another MVP for me, I wasn't expecting this but I'm very grateful and all of this is for my mother" Daniela-Morillo Wallen (Hidrocarburos) "I'm very pleased with the Superleague. There's a good level. Costaneras was a great opponent and that's what Women's Venezuelan basketball needs to continue developing" "After 12 years without playing in my country, to come back and win a championship means a lot. I'm in a process of creating a new generation and helping a new generation to fight for their dreams and work hard. Just like I was able to play in Europe for eleven years, I'm not extraordinary and I know the next generation will also be able to do it" Roselis Silva (166-PG-1991, college: Arkansas Tech) (Hidrocarburos) "This championship for me means everything. I think it's time to consider this a phase that's over in my sports career. I'm annoucing my retirement while I'm at my best level. For me that's a big satisfaction" "There are incoming young players that are very good and they'll always count on the older players. We're always going to support them, just like the U18 National Squad that's currently playing the Americup in Mexico" Waleska Perez (Hidrocarburos) "I told the team that we needed to take this step by step, game by game, and the more hungry team got the crown. This time the best teams was Hidrocarburos. Costaneras was a tough team that made us suffer a lot" "After winning three titles as a player with Marinos, this is something new to me. I'm like a kid with a new toy, winning my first championship in my debut as a coach. I want to say congratulations to the Venezuelan Basketball Federation for the Superliga. I hope that the support continues with young talents" Kervin Bracho (Head coach of Hidrocarburos) LINABAFE CHAMPIONS 2009 - EPB Escuela Pedagogica de Baloncesto (over Estudiantes BBC in a Final Four) - Coach Eduardo Gil - MVP Roselis Silva 2010 - EPB Escuela Pedagogica de Baloncesto (over Yaracuyanas BBC, 3-0) - Coach Eduardo Gil - MVP Cleyder Blanco 2011 - Yaracuyanas BBC (over Llaneras de Cojedes, 3-1) - Coach Hugo Calvette - MVP Ivaney Marquez 2012 - Yaracuyanas BBC (over Bucaneras de La Guaira, 3-2) - Coach Hugo Calvette - MVP Ivaney Marquez 2013 - Bucaneras de La Guaira (over Deportivo Anzoategui, 3-1) - Coach Victor Gustavo Rojas - MVP Sharol Renault 2014 - Deportivo Anzoategui (over Bucaneras de La Guaira, 3-2) - Coach Eduardo Gil - MVP Roselis Silva 2015 - Bucaneras de La Guaira (over Deportivo Anzoategui, 3-1) - Coach Alecia Landaeta - MVP Ivaney Marquez 2016 - Bucaneras de La Guaira (over Cangrejas de Monagas, 3-1) Coach Alecia Landaeta - MVP Jofranny Guerra 2017 - Cangrejas de Monagas (over Estudiantes de Caracas, 3-0) Coach Jose Dos Santos - MVP Waleska Perez SUPERLIGA CHAMPIONS 2021 - Deportivo Anzoategui (over Caribenas de Caracas, 2-0) - Coach Jose Arias - MVP Waleska Perez 2022 - Caribenas de Caracas (over Cayenas de Carabobo, 3-1) - Coach Julio Barreto - MVP Waleska Perez 2024 - Pastoras de Lara (over Caribenas de Caracas, 1-0) - Coach Daniel Queralez - MVP Odeth Betancourt 2025 - Pastoras de Lara (over Caribenas de Caracas, 3-1) - Coach Diego Vasquez - MVP Daniela Morillo-Wallen 2026 - Hidrocarburos de Caracas (over Costaneras de Puerto Cabello, 3-1) - Coach Kervin Bracho - MVP Daniela Morillo-Wallen
