The game between Top Four teams took place in Obera. Third ranked host Obera (8-3) defeated 4th placed Instituto (6-3) 78-73. Obera made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Obera outrebounded Instituto 53-34 including a 45-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for swingman Hans Ponce (192-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 assists. Franco Fragozo (198-1) helped adding 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Juan Frontera responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Obera moved-up to second place. Instituto at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Obera are looking forward to face Ferro (#11) in Buenos Aires in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Instituto will play at home against Argentino (#9) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

It was an exceptional evening for Santiago Barrales (189-98) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. Matias Nunez accounted for 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Comunicaciones' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Juan Frontera came up with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for Instituto in the defeat. Undefeated Comunicaciones have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Instituto at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Comunicaciones will play against Ferro (#11) in Buenos Aires in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Instituto will play at home against Argentino (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
H.Americano has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked San Lorenzo (5-3) 72-68 on Wednesday. Ramiro Ledesma fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Juan Ramayo produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. San Lorenzo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. H.Americano (1-6) left bottom position moving up to eighteenth place, which they share with Platense. Loser San Lorenzo dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Regatas. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Boca Jrs. destroyed Atenas on the opponent's court 85-53. Obras was outscored by La Union in a home game 60-91. Regatas managed to beat Penarol on the road 83-72. Quimsa defeated San Martin on its own court 88-86. Platense was beaten by Ferro in Buenos Aires 72-54. Union was destroyed by Riachuelo LR at home 68-98. La Union managed to outperform Gimnasia on the opponent's court 96-86. Olimpico recorded a loss to San Martin in a home game 69-74.



Atenas - Boca Jrs. 53-85

Very expected game in Cordoba where 15th ranked Atenas (2-5) was crushed by third ranked Boca Jrs (7-1) 85-53 on Saturday. Boca Jrs dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Atenas' 28. They outrebounded Atenas 49-35 including 38 on the defensive glass. Juan Guerrero fired 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Nicolas Burgos (207-3) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Boca Jrs players scored in double figures. Thiago Sucatsky produced 14 points and Sebastian Celasor added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Atenas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Boca Jrs maintains third place with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Comunicaciones. Atenas lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with five games lost. Boca Jrs' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires .
