The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An interesting game for Obras (26-4) which played road game in La Rioja against 4th ranked Riachuelo (22-9). Second ranked Obras managed to get a 7-point victory 87-80. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Lautaro Barrios (195-2004) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Fabricio Diaz (205-2006) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds for Riachuelo. Obras have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 26-4 record having five points less than leader Independ.O. Riachuelo at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Obras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires Ferro.
Bottom-ranked Atenas managed to get a second victory, breaking the twenty three-game losing streak. This time they edged seventeenth-ranked Zarate in Cordoba 80-77. Worth to mention a great performance of Tiago Tomatis who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Jeronimo Maidana who added 17 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Atenas' coach Walter Albert allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Tomas Delia responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Atenas maintains twentieth position with 2-28 record. Zarate lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 24 games lost. Atenas will play against higher ranked La Union (#10) in Formosa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zarate will have a break next round.
LDD top team - Independ.O. (28-5) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed seventeenth ranked Zarate (7-24) in Olivia 142-93. The winners were led by Lucas Aragon who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Independ.O.'s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points by Benjamin Neugebauer did not help to save the game for Zarate. Independ.O. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 28-5 record. Zarate lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 24 games lost. Independ.O. will meet at home La Union (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zarate will have a break next round.

Other games in round 40 were not that significant. Riachuelo was beaten by La Union on the road 92-85. Gimnasia lost to Argentino on its own court 80-87. San Lorenzo unfortunately lost to Regatas in Corrientes 51-65. Quimsa was rolled over Obras at home 50-101. Argentino was defeated by Ferro on the opponent's court 73-69. La Union beat San Lorenzo in a home game 89-82. Gimnasia was destroyed by Platense on the road 94-71. Independ.O. managed to outperform San Martin on its own court 102-84.
The most impressive performance of 40th round was 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Juan Mascaro of San Martin.



Independ.O. - Zarate 142-93

LDD top team - Independ.O. (28-5) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed seventeenth ranked Zarate (7-24) in Olivia 142-93. Independ.O. dominated down low during the game scoring 94 of its points in the paint compared to Zarate's 50. Independ.O. forced 26 Zarate turnovers and outrebounded them 57-23 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Independ.O. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Zarate's players.
