Venezuelan center Jesus Centeno (205-2006) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jose Copesky chipped in 24 points during the contest. Gimnasia CR's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Franco Gimenez (190) with 35 points (!!!). Gimnasia CR have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. La Union at the other side keeps the third position with one game lost. Gimnasia will play against Independ.O. (#17) in Olivia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. La Union will play on the road against Penarol (#15) in Mar del Plata and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Olimpico's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Atenas (1-6) 85-81 on Thursday. Jeremias Barco notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort. Olimpico's coach Jose Maria Gerez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 30 points and 9 rebounds by Tiago Tomatis did not help to save the game for Atenas. Olimpico (1-4) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Penarol. It was Atenas' sixth loss in a row. They dropped to the sixteenth position with six games lost. Olimpico will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenas will play against San Lorenzo (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 6: Atenas was beaten by Quimsa on the road 86-70. Winless Union lost to Racing Ch. on its own court 85-88. San Lorenzo managed to outperform Independ.O. in Almagra 87-69. Boca Jrs. recorded a loss to La Union at home 69-73.
The most impressive performance of 6th round was 11 points and 12 rebounds by Emanuel Rodriguez of La Union.

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Quimsa (2-3) beat 15th ranked Atenas (1-6) in Santiago del Estero 86-70 on Tuesday. Quimsa outrebounded Atenas 50-37 including 36 on the defensive glass. Romeo Amprimo notched 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and forward Patricio Cogliati (203-2006) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. Quimsa's coach Mariano Marcos used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by Venezuelan center Jesus Centeno (205-2006) did not help to save the game for Atenas. point guard Jose Copesky (184-2006) added 21 points and 4 assists. Quimsa moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Racing Ch. Atenas lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with six games lost. Quimsa will meet at home Racing Ch. (#12) in the next round. Atenas will play against San Lorenzo (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
