NBB Round 6: Flamengo lose their first game against Paulistano

The most surprising game was the first loss of Flamengo (6-1) in Sao Paulo on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Paulistano (3-1) 87-81. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Flamengo. Serbian guard Nino Celebic (191-91) scored 16 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international Eduardo Sommer (205-94) chipped in 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was international point guard Yago Matheus (173-99) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Paulistano have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion Flamengo still keeps top position with one game lost. Paulistano are looking forward to face league's second-placed Minas in Belo Horizonte in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Flamengo will have a break next round.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 6: winless Fortaleza lost to Bauru on the opponent's court 59-74. Caxias do Sul managed to outperform Cerrado in a home game 72-64. Winless Brasilia recorded a loss to U.Corinthians on the road 70-55. Winless Pato Basquete lost to undefeated Sesi Franca on its own court 66-88. Minas beat Corinthians in Belo Horizonte 82-65. Mogi won against Rio Claro at home 64-60.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 12 points and 11 rebounds by Douglas Dos Santos of Mogi.
