Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Leader Sampaio delivered the thirteenth win on Thursday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Campinas (8-8) 60-56 in Sampaio Basquete. The former international forward Thayna Silva (180-1996) fired 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Carina Martins (171-1992) chipped in 13 points and 4 steals. Argentinian point guard Melisa Gretter (166-1993) produced 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Sampaio maintains first position with 13-2 record. Campinas at the other side keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Sampaio are looking forward to face Santo Andre (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Campinas will play against Blumenau and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
The game in Mesquita was also worth to mention about. Second ranked SESI (12-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Mesquita (7-9). SESI did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 64-47. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Emanuely De Oliveira (178-1999, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds. Glenda Cruz contributed with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Colombian guard Mayra Caicedo (161-2000, college: Tarleton St.) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds for Mesquita. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SESI have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-2 record behind leader Sampaio. Mesquita at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Cerrado. SESI will play against Cerrado (#8) in Brasilia in the next round where they are favorite. Mesquita will play at home against Maringa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Brasilia. Local Cerrado (7-9) outscored 9th ranked Santo Andre (4-11) 93-68 on Sunday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Dayna Rouse who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. Cerrado's coach Alan Monteiro felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Brenda Bleidao responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Cerrado moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mesquita. Santo Andre lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Cerrado will meet league's second-placed SESI in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Santo Andre will play against the league's leader Sampaio (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Rest of the games of round 16 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Mesquita crushed Blumenau in a road game 67-45. Bottom-ranked Maringa was smashed by Corinthians at home 73-94. Sao Jose lost to Ourinhos on the opponent's court 62-66.
The best stats of 16th round was 23 points and 7 rebounds by Goivanna Carey of Ourinhos.

Blumenau - Mesquita 45-67

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Blumenau (2-13) was crushed at home by seventh ranked Mesquita (7-9) 67-45 on Thursday. Mesquita held Blumenau to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Worth to mention a great performance of center Brenda Barros (185-2000) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and Colombian guard Mayra Caicedo (161-2000, college: Tarleton St.) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Maiara Dias responded with 6 points and 14 rebounds and guard Rayane De Freitas (173-1997) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Blumenau's coach Andre Soares gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Mesquita maintains seventh position with 7-9 record, which they share with Cerrado. Blumenau lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 13 games lost. Mesquita will meet at home bottom-ranked Maringa (#11) in the next round. Blumenau will play against Campinas and hope to secure a win.

Corinthians outrebounded Maringa 35-18 including 27 on the defensive glass. Corinthians shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Tassia Carcavalli (179-1992) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Beatriz Oliveira (169-1995) who added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest.
